Construction Research Alliance is an association in UTM that is formed to conduct world-class leading edge research in construction. It is scheduled to begin operations on May 2009. Lead by Research Dean, Prof. Dr. Muhd Zaimi Abd Majid, Construction RA is a strong combination of existing established centers of excellent and groups of expert, wide experienced with young and fresh researchers within UTM.
Comprising of 2 centers of excellent and 18 research groups, Construction RA is looking forward to be a world class centre of research in construction. Furthermore, the vision of Construction RA is for being a forefront excellence in research and development through innovation and creation in the related research area.
Construction RA was then entrusted with the role of coordinating and establishing the whole value chain of research activities. By optimizing and restructuring human resources and equipments for research, Construction RA will create a clear direction on related key research area. Therefore this will enhance the research output and competitiveness involving expertise and other resources within Construction RA.
Generally, Construction RA has a wide array of key research area related to construction and civil engineering. The research area includes housing, structural analysis and building, materials engineering, pavement study, seismic engineering, construction security, quantity surveying, land surveying, urban and regional planning and geology study.
